Circular Economy directions
Prof. Andrea Genovese
Andrea Genovese is a Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Sheffield University Management School. His recent work has explored the limits of circular economy thinking, the possibilities of post-growth transitions. Originally trained in operational research, he now writes about how production and distribution systems might be reorganised beyond efficiency, profit, and growth. He teaches, researches (and occasionally rants) and coordinates externally-funded projects about the intersection of supply chains, power, and ecological crisis.

Challenges facing SC and innovative solutions at Sky
Vinesh Patel
In October 2015, I joined Sky to establish and manage Operations within the Sky Mobile supply chain. We became the first mobile network to eliminate single-use plastic and switch to cardboard packaging for all customer journeys. In March 2019, I also took on Inventory Planning responsibilities. From September 2020 to July 2024, I led the UK&I Planning teams across Mobile, TV, Glass, Broadband, Sky Business, and Sky Protect, driving our vision for standardized planning excellence and a truly digital, data-led supply chain. In March 2024, my team and I transitioned from UK&I Supply Chain to Group Supply Chain Planning. Initially taking temporary responsibility for the Process Innovation and Reporting team, this role became permanent in July 2024. My priorities include rebuilding and standardising the Anaplan platform, delivering a reporting roadmap, and embracing AI opportunities to help deliver a Planning Centre of Excellence.

Close of Conference & Handover to LRN 2026 (Lecture Theatre 1)
Taylor & Francis is proud to publish the International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications. Founded in 1998, and receiving over 300,000 article downloads annually, IJLRA publishes original and challenging work that has a clear applicability to the business world. As a result, the journal concentrates on papers of an academic journal standard but aimed at the practitioner as much as the academic. High quality contributions are therefore welcomed from both academics and professionals working in the field of logistics and supply chain management. Papers should further our understanding of logistics and supply chain management and make a significant original contribution to knowledge. In this context the term ’logistics’ is taken in its broadest context as "the management of processes, flow of materials and associated information along the entire supply chain, from raw materials through to the final user of the product".
